The ABCs of Point-and-Shoot Cameras

Compact, pocket models occupy the largest section of the digital camera market, and vary wildly in terms of features and price. Still, a compact camera is often the best choice for a newbie, who needs more guidance and automatic modes than a more-experienced photographer would.
If you want to capture candid shots and take vacation photos, you'll do best with an easy-to-tote point-and-shooter. While most compacts focus on automatic features, some models offers a few manual settings, too.
