Here’s a tutorial in order to be in control of a lens flare and be able to make adjustments at will after the implementation of it :
Get an image you wish to add a lens flare to, click on ‘new layer’ or go to Layer –> New —> Layer
Fill that layer with a solid black color.Go to EDIT –> FILL or press Shift + F5 and choose BLACK
Now it’s time to add our Lens Flare
Go to FILTER —> RENDER —> LENS FLARE ( Kai Power ToolsPlugin Series have a nice lens flare collection as well )
Now we’re going to change the blending mode of this layer, set it to SCREEN
This will hide all the blacks and keep the lighter values , your flare.Now you can move the flare at will, adjust the opacity , transform/distort or erase some areas with a layer mask.This gives you better control of your lens flare.
