New Products and Services Leverage Kodak’s ‘Connect with Professional Quality’ Commitment across the Entire Professional Photography Spectrum

NEW YORK, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/—Eastman Kodak Company continues to bring new products and services to the professional photography market, combining product innovation, service expertise and marketing assets, to drive business for the professional market. At this year’s PhotoPlus show Oct 23 - 25 in New York City, Kodak will kick off an initiative to highlight the work of professional photographers on the Kodak Times Square Gallery, starting with this year’s crop of Photo District News (PDN) “PDN 30.” Also, at PhotoPlus, attendees can hear from some of the PDN 30 photographers at PhotoPlus on Saturday, Oct. 25, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, in a discussion entitled “PDN’s 30: Strategies for the Young Working Photographer.” At the Kodak booth, #624, Kodak will showcase its new KODAK PROFESSIONAL EKTAR 100 Film, the enhanced KODAK Network of Professional Photographers program and Kodak’s Pro Lab Locator, and new KODAK PROFESSIONAL Papers.

“Underlying every initiative undertaken at Kodak is our commitment to exceeding the expectations of our most discerning professional customers, through the products and services we offer and the way in which we strive to assist the professional market in a continually changing environment,” said Mary Jane Hellyar, president, Film, Photofinishing and Entertainment Group and executive vice president, Eastman Kodak Company. “We also strive to help our professional partners connect with each other, as well as the customers they serve, from individual consumers to large, multinational corporations. Each relies on the professional market for quality capture and output and KODAK Products and Services help ensure that the results will meet the highest standards.”

Kodak’s products and services for the Professional market include:

Kodak Times Square Gallery: Beginning with the PDN 30, Kodak will feature professional photographers on the Kodak Times Square Gallery, Kodak’s large-screen outdoor display located in the heart of New York City. Throughout 2009, visitors to Times Square can experience the work of some of the world’s top photographers and learn more about their work. Kodak will identify photographers to highlight on the Times Square Gallery through partner nominations and Kodak’s photographer relationships. The initiative serves to highlight the value of professional photographers and professional labs, and drive awareness and engagement with the professional market.

KODAK PROFESSIONAL EKTAR 100 (EKTAR 100 Film): The new film, with ISO 100 speed, high saturation and ultra-vivid color, offers the finest, smoothest grain of any color negative film available today. EKTAR 100 Film is the ideal choice for commercial photographers and advanced amateurs for applications such as nature, travel, fashion and product photography, where the emphasis is often on color. The new film incorporates KODAK VISION Motion Picture Film technology to achieve its unparalleled fine grain. It’s great for photographers who prefer the ease of working with 35mm, and who look for extraordinary enlargement capability when scanning and printing.

KODAK Network of Professional Photographers: Kodak revised its KODAK Network of Professional Photographers, its professional photographer locator. It continues to be the trusted source for consumers to find high-quality photographers to capture, print and preserve important life events. The newly improved site, http://www.findapro.Kodak.com, provides a quicker, easier- to- access and more useful catalog of services by professional photographers. Users can view sample images from across the country and link directly to photographers’ Web sites. Whether in need of a professional photographer for a wedding, portrait, special event, commercial assignment or more, the improved site allows consumers to sort by photographic specialties and geography while also showing examples of photographers’ image types to help consumers in their searches.

Pro Lab Locator: For photographers who find themselves working on location or on specialty projects, either cross town, cross country or cross continent, Eastman Kodak Company provides them with a one-stop, online location to find a lab that offers the highest quality services and output. The ProLab Locator, part of the KODAK Pro Lab Resource Center (PLRC), comprises hundreds of professional labs, searchable by specialty and location. To access the ProLab Locator, photographers can visit http://www.prolabresourcecenter.kodak.com.

KODAK PROFESSIONAL Papers: New papers augment the full portfolio of professional papers from Kodak. Kodak introduced wide-format offerings of its highly popular KODAK PROFESSIONAL Inkjet Photo Paper, now available in 36-inch and 44-inch roll widths. The new wide format allows photographers to create enlargements, reprints, proofs—right in their studios. It is available in Lustre and Gloss surface finish options and is instantly dry to the touch. It works with all inkjet printers, and Kodak provides downloadable custom ICC color profiles optimized for most printers. Along with the new wider format, KODAK PROFESSIONAL Inkjet Photo Paper is available in 10-, 16-, and 24-inch roll widths, as well as 8.5 by 11-inch and 13 by 9-inch sheets. In addition, Kodak delivered the new KODAK PROFESSIONAL SUPRA ENDURA VC Digital Paper to market.
