FotoNation FaceEnhance Solution Improves Portraits in Camera Phones and Digital Still Cameras

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tessera Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:TSRA) today announced its new FotoNation® FaceEnhance solution, which beautifies captured images of human faces by smoothing lines and blemishes to improve the capabilities of digital still cameras (DSCs), camera phones and other camera-enabled devices.

The FotoNation FaceEnhance solution automatically reduces the appearance of wrinkles and other skin imperfections from human faces in an image, without the need for additional editing with PC software. It can be applied automatically upon image capture, or applied manually in the display setting when viewing an image. The solution can also be used in display devices, such as digital picture frames.

“The FotoNation FaceEnhance solution is the latest addition to our portfolio of image enhancement technologies that are transforming the next generation of camera-enabled devices,” said Michael Bereziuk, executive vice president, Imaging & Optics, Tessera. “Our goal is to enhance and simplify the user experience in taking images of the highest quality whether those images are taken on a digital still camera (DSC), or cell phone camera.”

The FotoNation FaceEnhance solution is available for licensing now from Tessera.
