 Sun Mover From California Sunbounce

The SUN-MOVER™ is not another typical pop-up reflector but a flat collapsible light reflector that transforms SUN-LIGHT and STUDIO-LIGHT in a totally controlled way into SPOT-LIGHT and SOFT-LIGHT. Designed by a photographer for photographers, the SUN-MOVER™ truly is the greatest breakthrough in the history of photographic and film lighting via reflectors. There has never been such an universal reflector in the whole photographic industry. The SUN-MOVER™ is manufactured once more by the German–light-modulating-photographic-and-film-accessories-equipment-manufacturer CALIFORNIA SUNBOUNCE™. Wolfgang-Peter Geller, chief designer and owner of CALIFORNIA SUNBOUNCE™, has been studying the 40-year-old principle of collapsible light reflectors in order to optimize it for professional use.

Wolfgang-Peter Geller, WORLD PRESS AWARD WINNER and professional photographer himself, is very proud of his newest coup, which has been already registered at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt):

“Idea and lighting are still the essence of a good picture. Sometimes it’s about adding, sometimes it’s about reducing light by having at the same time as many shades of colors as possible available. After extensive research, we came up a with a really brilliant idea: a new design, consisting of an OVAL SHAPE, PERMA-TENSE™ reflective screen and two solid BUILT-IN HANDLES. This innovative construction system provokes that SPOT, NEUTRAL or SOFT light effects can be made by only one collapsible reflector. Bending the two motorcycle-like handles in-or outward, you get a surprising control over the beam of light. The SUN-MOVER™ is able to increase the volumne of light or transport it a long way without suffering a substantial loss. The oval shape, the comfortable built-in handles and the drum-like screen make in-and outward bendings easily possible. If you bend the SUN-MOVER™ inward (the center of the reflector is pointing to your body), you will get a SPOT EFFECT, meaning that the light is very hard and intense without much diffusion, concentrated like a SPOT. For a NEUTRAL EFFECT you use the SUN-MOVER like any regular collapsible reflector in the market redirecting the sun-light into darker areas in order to avoid shadows. If you bend the SUN-MOVER™ outward, you will get a SOFT EFFECT resulting into a smoother/warmer tone with less lighting power.”

The SUN-MOVER™ consists of a very elastic hem and a very powerful and indestructible oval frame made out of spring steel. PERMA-TENSE* is the name for the synergy effect of the frame and the elastic material, which keeps the reflective screen under extra-permanent tension when in use. All parts and materials are high quality and MADE IN GERMANY. The SUN-MOVER™ guarantees perfect light modulation and control out on location or in the studio. It comes in two flavors: silver/white fabric for slight warm light and zebra/white fabric for neutral light. The frisbee-like size SUN-MOVER™ is very light and ideal for portraits to half body shots. Especially travel and portrait photographers, who often work alone, will love this handy piece of equipment.

Perfect handling
The oval 85x79cm (33.46x 31.1 inch) SUN-MOVER™ system is trouble free to set up. It easily folds on and off and fits neatly into it’s carrying case for convenient transportation. Within seconds, the SUN-MOVER™ stretches tightly to a third of its original size. Ulrich Goetze, sales and marketing director at CALIFORNIA SUNBOUNCE™, expects great response from the market: “The oval shaped SUN-MOVER™ has a no-crinkle-surface for bouncing light. It holds its extra-permanent tension even in the wind. Since the super-strong frames are constructed out of special high-strength steel, it is pretty much like holding a solid reflector. It really promises the best of both worlds: a sturdy reflector with the proven SUNBOUNCE fabric that can be folded up fast into a small pocket. It will never be left at home because its too big or too bulky. It fits in every photographer’s backpack. The SUN-MOVER™ is the indispensable tool for a fine control in a wide variety of shots. Even when it gets a little breezy, the MADE-IN-GERMANY-SUN-MOVER™ ensures that your shooting doesn’t get screwed up. In contrast to to the typical potatoe-chippy collapsible reflector, the SUN-MOVER™ guarantees you 100% efficiency and focus due to its PERMA-TENSE™ system.”

Price and Availability
The SUN-MOVER™ is available at CALIFORNIA SUNBOUNCE™, Germany and its dealers. Suggested retail price for the original SUNBOUNCE silver/white screen is 79 Euro and for the zebra/white screen is 89 Euro.
