Configurator 1.0 in Adobe Photoshop CS 4- Build Your Own Photoshop Panel
Photoshop may be the industry standard — but that covers a lot of industries. So the program’s interface is pretty general. As it has increased in complexity, many of its efficiencies have been hidden. And it can be very difficult to demonstrate any you’ve discovered to coworkers or friends.
Enter Configurator. Adobe will release this utility on Adobe Labs when Creative Suite 4 ships but we got a prelease version to play with. And we went right to work, building two custom panels to handle two tasks we do every day: resize images and retouch them.
The little application, we explained, “lets you build your own Photoshop control panels written in Flash (without having to learn Flash). Configurator, an AIR-based application, lets you drag and drop widgets and controls to build your own tool, which can easily be shared with your coworkers.”
